Monuments of the past
Painting history
From autumn 1968 to spring 1969 the team of Zaporozhye artists had a creative trip to the city of Veliky Ustyug of the Vologda region (with a visit to the cities of Vologda and Kotlas). The purpose of this trip was to capture the picturesque views of the architectural heritage of the old cities in an artistic image.
P. Redin always recalled that trip with warmth because it was not only an interesting and exciting but also a very useful for creative development. At time of trip many historical facts about the creation of architectural monuments were studied; many meetings and creative discussions were held with groups of artists from other cities; many artistic masterpieces depicting ancient monuments of a huge country were created.
